Jan 5 2010—another snowfall in Toronto. Everytime it snows, it always feels as if Im in a snow globe.
You see, Life is like a snowglobe. Just like a snowglobe, there will always be someone or something that will shake our foundation; testing us on how well we can withstand the storms or the changes in life.
When a snowglobe is shaken, the inside of it becomes clouded with “snow.” Now, think of life as a snowglobe, when our foundation is shaken, we are often left with a clouded outlook on life or lost in the haze of the events, unsure of which way to go or where we are going.
At times, we close our eyes too long to miss out on the purpose of the events in our lives or the reason some people will come in and out of our lives or why things happen. We often find ourselves too afraid to open our eyes. Too afraid to look around of the possibilities. Too afraid to look closer of the mysteries that lies ahead and lastly, to see the purpose and beauty of it all.
But if we keep our eyes open during the storm, we may see why these people or events had to be. Perhaps our foundation was shaken because we were carried to a more beautiful, much more deserving place. Not hidden in the shadows of mistakes, regrets, our comfort zones, heartbreak, whatever that may be. Or perhaps if we are too caught up in our own lives, too egocentric to appreciate everything and everyone around us, we are sometimes shaken to be dusted off in order to a have clearer view on life outside of our own and see the beauty that surrounds us.
There is purpose in everything. It’s just a matter having the courage to persevere and having the patience to let each crease unfold to reveal the bigger the picture. FAITH, LOVE and HOPE!!!
